Heartland Season 15 is currently in production with the cast & crew working long hours to stay on schedule. The premiere date for the first episode has been set to October 17, 2021.
So far, CBC has only released generic information about the plot of Heartland Season 15. As a result, fans’ minds have been running wild wondering what the new season will bring.
While all we can do is speculate at this point, certain storylines are more likely to happen than others. Based on previous seasons, we have come up with a few ideas as to what fans can expect to see in the new season.
Here are 9 things that could happen in Heartland Season 15!
*Warning: spoilers ahead for Season 14*
1. Moving on From Ty’s Death
As much as fans want the show to miraculously bring Ty Borden back, that’s unlikely to happen. Sadly, the actor Graham Wardle made clear statements about wanting to take a break from acting. He’s been thinking about this next step in his life for years so he can spend more time on his other projects.
Read more about why Graham Wardle left Heartland.
In the first episode of Season 14, Ty collapses and dies from deep vein thrombosis, a complication of his gunshot wound. Many fans are hoping Season 15 will reveal that Ty was in a coma or had a bad dream all along. However, we are most likely to see Amy and her family moving on and finding a new purpose in life.
The official synopsis for Heartland Season 15 also supports this assumption:
“The Bartlett-Fleming family has learned a hard lesson: life is short and you have to live each day to the fullest. In season 15 of HEARTLAND, they will put what they learned into practice. Last season, Amy said goodbye to the past. This season, she embraces the future – raising her daughter, working with the horses who continue to heal her, branching out into a new phase of her life and profession. She is moving forward and feels determined to leave a legacy. In fact, Jack, Lisa, Lou, and Tim have all decided that now is not the time to pull back, but to ramp up, to create new dreams and fulfill old ones. And, as they always do, the family will pull together to help each other… and will ultimately end up stronger than ever.”
Sounds like Amy will continue to be a role model for single mothers in the new season! There’s also lots of potential for Tim and Lou to expand on their current projects. What’s more, the “fulfillment of old dreams” could mean we’ll be seeing old faces from the past return and stir things up.

2. Peter and Lou Getting Back Together
Despite their divorce, Peter has been around a fair amount in recent seasons. To Georgie and Katie’s delight, their father has been making a real effort to be part of their lives.

Further to this storyline, Season 14 has brought an interesting turn. At first glance, it seemed like things are finally happening for team Mitch. After many ups and downs, Mitch has finally asked Lou to marry him and she said yes.
However, as the couple was planning their special day, something else happened. Peter suddenly became extra supportive of Lou’s endeavors. Every time a crisis happened, Peter was there for Lou while Mitch was mostly absent.
But the real twist came at the end of the season. In the final episode “Staying the Course”, Peter and Lou admitted they still have feelings for each other. Lou didn’t hesitate to break up with Mitch the next day, which means she’s available again.
After everything that happened, Lou and Peter getting back together in Season 15 is almost certain. The reason they divorced in the first place was Peter’s continuous absence, which he clearly worked on. And this time getting back together wouldn’t just be best for the kids, but the couple too.
3. Dr. Scott Returning
Scott Cardinal has been the Heartland family’s trusted friend and veterinarian for decades. He and Lou were an item once and Scott also hired Ty after he got out of vet school.

So far, his character has appeared in every season of the show except Season 14. Unfortunately, since Ty took over vet duties on Heartland ranch, Scott has been getting less and less screen time.
However, with Ty now gone Heartland is left without a primary vet. In the last season, we saw Ty’s old colleague Cassandra performing vet duties on the ranch, but she mainly works at the clinic.
Sooner or later, the show will have to come up with an answer regarding what happened to Scott. Some fans think he will be back in Season 15 to replace Ty as Heartland’s main vet. That would certainly be a nice treat to Scott’s fans and numb some of the pain from Ty’s absence.
4. Georgie Competing at National Championships
When it comes to show jumping, Georgie and Phoenix are unstoppable. They have shown incredible talent for the sport since their first day at Heartland. Georgie and her special horse have come a long way already, but they won’t stop until the Olympics.

As of last season, Georgie’s Olympic dream is closer than ever. With the help of Quinn, she aced her competition in the season finale and impressed the observer from Horse Canada. He even handed Georgie a card with his contact details, which means she and Phoenix might be headed for the North American Youth Championships next season!
Unless Georgie drastically changes her mind about competing again, we can expect to see her and Quinn training hard for upcoming competitions in Season 15. As we know, Quinn is now officially Georgie’s show jumping trainer. While we probably won’t see Georgie at the Olympics just yet, her storyline this season will certainly be about paving the way towards the end goal.
5. Georgie and Quinn Getting Engaged
Georgie and Quinn first met at the prestigious show jumping camp in Switzerland. Throughout Season 13, we see them getting along as friends after Quinn shows up at Georgie’s high school graduation. It didn’t take long for them to admit their feelings and get together in the Season 13 finale “The Passing of the Torch”.
Since things have moved so fast for the couple in the past, why couldn’t they get engaged in Season 15? It may be somewhat far-fetched, but not unimaginable. There has already been an “engagement scare” in Season 14 where Lou thought Quinn was going to propose to Georgie.
While this time it was just a false alarm, the incident could be a clue that a real proposal is on the way. After all, Georgie and Quinn are perfect for each other in every way and they both pursue the same passion. Besides, with Quinn’s dad visiting Heartland, their families have already had a chance to get to know each other.

One thing is certain: if the couple stays as strong as they are now, it’s only a matter of time before they will want to take the next step. The engagement of Georgie and Quinn would be a lovely addition to the Season 15 plot, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
6. New Love Interest For Amy
Ty was no doubt the love of Amy’s life and is irreplaceable, which is why his loss was so tragic. However, that doesn’t mean Amy is now doomed for eternal loneliness. If anything, Ty would want her to be happy and follow her heart if a special someone comes along.
In this respect, fans on social media have formed two groups: those who can’t imagine Amy with anyone else and those who hope she finds a new love. If the show goes on for long enough, I think we’re more than likely to see a new romantic storyline creep up.
And who knows, maybe we’ve already met Amy’s future love without realizing it! Cooper Hues, for example, is a possible candidate. He and Amy have already worked closely together to save the new horse therapy center.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s not forget that Amy will likely not be ready for a new relationship just yet. After all, she recently lost her other half and will probably be mourning for many years to come. Still, you can never tell where a new friendship will lead further down the line.
7. Amy Retiring Spartan
Sadly, both the fictional and real-life Spartan is nearing the age of 20. In the last two seasons, we have witnessed minor injuries and ridden exercise take a toll on Amy’s beloved steed. The time has now come for Amy to face reality and choose a new riding horse.

In Season 14, we already saw Amy battling these exact thoughts. Ever since Spartan has developed arthritis, she has been asking less and less of him. While it’s extremely difficult for Amy to say goodbye to the horse her mom died saving, it’s for the best.
Besides, a new connection has been forming between Amy and the wild colt. The same way that Spartan reminds her of Marion, the colt reminds her of Ty as Amy was working with the horse when he collapsed. The closing scene of Season 14 is another sign that we can expect to see a lot more of the wild colt in Season 15.
What’s more, the colt not only connected with Amy, but Spartan too. He has been helping Amy work with the wildlife from the start. It’s almost as if Spartan was giving his consent for the colt to take over, which makes for a beautiful transition.

8. Lou Taking on New Projects as Mayor
It has been confirmed that Aidan Moreno playing Lou’s Chief Administrative Officer Rick will be returning for Season 15. This means that Lou will be continuing her duties as the mayor of Hudson. Knowing Lou’s ambitions for bettering the town, she will likely take on several new projects in the new season.
As many of her efforts backfired in Season 14, she might take a different approach this time. However, with Lou being Lou it’s hard to predict what she will do next. The only thing certain is that she will not rest until Hudson and the community are blooming.

9. Tim and Jessica Getting Together
Out of all things that could happen in Heartland Season 15, this storyline is one of the most likely. Tim is at the stage of his life where he needs someone to settle down with. While he and Jessica have their differences, they are also alike in many ways.

Jessica originally came to Heartland with the intention of apologizing to Lou for getting her fired from her old job. A cancer scare urged her to make amends with people from her past, but her stay at Heartland stretched longer than she expected.
It’s rare to see Tim put as much effort into impressing a woman as she did with Jessica. The way the two of them overcame their differences to make things work also suggests they could become a strong couple. Season 15 will likely explore Tim and Jessica’s relationship and we can expect many heartfelt moments between the two.

Getting inpatient for Lou and Peter to get back together again. Disappointed that it is over 6 months and no progress. Life is too short to be divorced and away from each other. Lets get their relationship moving forward.

I think they should write Prince Ahmed back in. He is totally cool and a great foil for Amy.

Well it seems clear that you are incorrect about the Georgie predictions, as she is not even in Season 15. Thank goodness she is gone, she is such an irritating character!
