Couple Spends Their Retirement Saving Neglected Horses in Need

After retiring from careers as an FBI agent and US Customs worker, Larry and Peggy Neaves have devoted their time to rescuing horses.

The married couple is giving abandoned, abused and neglected horses a new take on life.

At the couple’s Forever Ranch, they provide care to horses who had nowhere else to go. They look after 18 horses, all of which came from unfortunate pasts.

Though they may be retired, the pair hasn’t slowed down, as looking after all of their horses keep them busy.

Larry and Peggy Give Horses With a Better Life

Originally, the Neaves family was planning to travel after retirement. However, they found rescuing horses was a much more worthwhile way to spend their money.

Though the couple provides exceptional care to their horses, they didn’t get into horses until a few years before opening their ranch.

Now, they are committed to giving their horses the best home possible. Their 700-acre facility is located in Brookesmith, Texas.

Though the work may be demanding, they don’t mind at all. Oftentimes they work over 12 hours a day, caring for their horses and doing barn chores.

Larry and Peggy prepare special meals for their horses to ensure they are healthy. They are happy to look after all of their horses.

Thanks to the dedication of Peggy and Larry Neaves, 18 horses are now able to live happily after coming from terrible situations.

The couple is dedicated to caring for their horses for the rest of their lives. They provide love and nourishment to each horse, giving them all the care they deserve.

One of the most heart felt stories and I want to extend my thanks to them both for helping and rescuing these precious horses. You both are angels and to donate your retirement time and money is truly admirable. How can I help with your efforts? I grew up in a farm and have had horses in my life always. I am looking for a change in my life so please let me know if you are needing any help with spending time with these beloved animals in helping them thru their remaining time. I am willing to work hard and live hard as well! Truly, your friend. S. Scott
