The Yellowstone prequel 1923 has given Taylorverse fans a whole new set of Dutton’s to love and enjoy.

With his charisma, dashing looks, and typical Dutton fighting spirit, Spencer Dutton is fast becoming a fan favorite and the newest Dutton heartthrob. Along with his beautiful fiancé, Spencer, and Alexandra are a dream couple.

After tragedy struck the Dutton family at the Yellowstone Ranch, Cara wrote to Spencer, pleading with him to come home and save his family.

Upon reading Cara’s letter, Spencer decides to go home with Alexandra, and they set their travel plans home.

On their way home aboard a tugboat at the end of episode 5, the boat was crashed into by a ghost ship and capsized.

In typical Taylor Sheridan style, he has left us with a cliffhanger, where we wonder if Spencer and Alexandra will survive their latest dice with death.

In the finale episode, Spencer also had a close run-in with Alexandra’s ex-fiance, Arthur, killing Arthur in the process.

*Spoilers ahead*

Do Spencer Dutton and Alexandra Die in 1923?

Spencer Dutton and Alexandra do not die in 1923 season one. They both survive many close calls though including being attacked by a leopard, lion, and elephant.

Perhaps the closest they came is being stranded at sea their tugboat crashed into it and was capsized by a ghost ship.

In episode 5, upon seeing they will inevitably crash into the Ghost of Zebrina ghost ship, Spencer sends out an SOS on the tugboat’s radio. The SOS was heard and acknowledged by the British maritime ship SS Lambridge.

Though it was already spoiled by various promotional images, episode 6 reveals that Spencer and Alexandra survive the ship crash and being stranded at sea.

After the collision, they are able to scramble onto the hull of the overturned tugboat. On there, the couple manages to survive long enough before being found by SS Lambridge.

While they are safe from drowning atop the overturned ship, they still had plenty to worry about. The sun, dehydration and sharks rocking the boat all threatened their well-being as they awaited rescue.

During the night, Alexandra is awoken by the sound of a boat horn in the distance. She frantically wakes up Spencer, who begins firing his gun into the air to give their location.

Fortunately, the rescue boat sent out by SS Lambridge is able to spot them. While they are exhausted, Spencer and Alexandra are unharmed.

Upon making their way aboard SS Lambridge they meet Captain Shipley, who they thank for rescuing them. He offers them a glass of whiskey to take the edge off their wild past few days.

Where are Spencer and Alexandra Headed Next?

After boarding the ship, Captain Shipley informs them that they are headed to Port Marseilles in France. He then inquires where Spencer and Alexandra are headed to.

Spencer informs him that the tugboat was taking them to Suez Canal. From there he did not know where they would go next on their journey to America.

Captain Shipley suggests they can find passage to America from Port Marseilles to Port of Galveston or Port Arthur in the gulf. He knows that they have a long journey still ahead of them but wants to help them as they make their way to Montana.

As of now, it is unclear as to what Spencer and Alexandra’s next stop is on their journey to America. However, in the meantime, we can rest assured that the happy couple is currently alive and well.
